The Prospect Team consists of high school age student-athletes with a desire to be the best they can be in the classroom and on the field, all interested in playing collegiate softball. Extra Innings Fastpitch Prospect Team will compete throughout the summer in college showcases in the Northeast.

Recruiting Services

At Extra Innings, we are happy to assist motivated athletes in navigating the college recruiting process. Regardless of placement or skill level, we will dissect division levels, discuss the pathways to become a successful college athlete, and tailor recruiting assistance to a player’s personal preferences. Athletes will work directly with our recruiting coordinator, and receive an optimistic and well thought out plan to find the best fit in an academic and athletic environment at the collegiate level.


Tom Gaeta
Two stints at Saugus High School totaling 9 years. Assistant varsity coach as well as Head Coach at all 3 levels. Most recently Head Coach of Saugus High School varsity team in 2012 & 2013 earning bids to the state tournament both years. Head coach for Saugus American Legion Post 210 for 3 years, and 2 years for the Saugus Braves of the NSMBL. Last 10 years been involved with Danvers Girls Softball as a coach and member of the board of directors. Has coached at all levels of Danvers Girls Softball including summer and fall travel teams.

Mark Veilleux
Mark is the current Varsity Softball Coach at Danvers High School. Prior to that he spent 23 years as Head Softball Coach at Endicott College with an overall record of 620-275-12 (.690), and a conference record of 362-60-2 (.856). Mark ranked 23rd in winning percentage among active NCAA Division III coaches and 32nd all-time through 2015-16 season. He ranked 19th in wins among active NCAA Division III coaches and 28th all-time through 2015-16 season. Mark has ten NCAA Division III Tournament appearances ('03-'11, '14), two NCAA Division III Regional Finals appearances ('08, '14), one ECAC Division III New England Championship ('12), and thirteen Conference Championships (NEWAC '95, GNAC '98-'99, CCC '03-'11, '14). Mark is a four-time Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year ('99, '02, '08, '14).

Dan Letarte
Dan Letarte brings his successful track record of coaching and the recruiting process to Extra Innings. Dan is the current St. John’s Prep Varsity Baseball Coach where he has coached since 2013 (155-52). He is 2nd all-time in wins and was inducted to St. John Prep Hall of Fame in 2003. Dan is the all-time wins leader in Super 8 baseball history and was the coach of the only team to make all six Super 8 selections in Massachusetts baseball history.

Dan has helped in the recruiting process of over 20 college girls playing college softball in the last five years. He also has placed over 80 players into college baseball and was the coach of Mike Yastrzemski (San Francisco Giants) and Pat Connaughton (Milwaukee Bucks). He is also a recipient of the Robert Pierce IAABO Award Winner for Sportsmanship given out by officials.

Dan graduated from Salem State with a degree in Business Administration in 1991 and Education 1995. He received his Master’s Degree in Education from University of Arkansas 2023 and he has been a faculty member in physical education at St. John’s Prep for 26 years. We look forward to Dan being part of our team!

Katie Watts
Katie is currently a graduate student and playing her fifth year as a utility player for the Endicott College softball program. At Endicott, she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Mathematics and a license to teach grades 8-12. On the field, she received All-CCC honors in 2021 and 2022 and NFCA All Region II Second Team. Additionally, she was named an Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar, CSC Academic All-District, CoSIDA Academic All-District, NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, three time CCC Academic All-Conference, and Endicott’s 2023 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. Katie is also a three-time CCC champion with the Gulls.

Before Endicott, she was a member of the Swampscott High varsity team from 2016-2019. While in high school, she played club softball at the Polar Crush and has much experience in the summer ball circuit. She has spent the last three seasons working for the Red Sox and can be seen on the field as a ball attendant. She is excited to join the staff at Extra Innings and grow the game!

Mya Doucette - 14U Extra Innings Softball Coach
Mya Doucette, a recent graduate, and Valedictorian from Essex North Shore Tech in 2022, will join us as the 14U Extra Innings Softball Coach. In 2023, Mya returned to her alma mater as the Head Coach for the Essex Tech Freshman team, leading them to an undefeated season under her guidance. During her high school career, Mya was a starting Varsity softball player and team Captain at Essex Tech, earning accolades such as the "Salem News Unsung Hero" in 2019, "Salem News All Star" and "CAC All Star" in 2021. Additionally, she was awarded the “Leadership Award” as a Freshman and was named a “Division 2 All Star” while in 8th grade at Rockport High School. Mya also brings experience from her time playing in club programs. We are delighted to welcome Mya to our coaching staff and look forward to her positive impact on our players.

Brooke Westmorland - Extra Innings Fastpitch Director of Pitching
We are pleased to announce Brooke Westmorland as our new Director of Pitching. Brooke's impressive background includes a standout high school career at Saugus High School, where she was named to the NEC All Conference Team, recognized as a NEC All Star, and awarded Team MVP in 2016. She continued her success at Salem State University and is currently an Assistant Varsity Coach at Saugus High School. Brooke's coaching experience includes roles at Bishop Fenwick and various club programs. Her extensive knowledge and commitment to player development will be invaluable as she leads our pitching program. We are excited to have Brooke join us and look forward to the many ways she will contribute to our team's success.
